Classical star Carly on a high after landing Collabro tour support spot

British classical singer Carly Paoli, who provided the voice for Pope Francis’ Jubilee Year of Mercy, will tour the UK later this year in support of chart-topping male singing group Collabro.

The Britain’s Got Talent winners will be launching their 29-date tour at The Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool on Tuesday, 24th October – and Carly will be appearing in the support slot. The tour runs until Saturday, 2nd December, finishing at Harrogate International Centre.

Collabro, one of the country’s most successful musical theatre groups, said: ‘We are thrilled to welcome the very accomplished Carly Paoli as special guest on our 2017 ‘Home’ UK Tour. Her voice is stunning and we cannot wait to perform alongside her this autumn.’

In addition to performing a selection of songs with Collabro, Ms Paoli will sing tracks from her debut album, Singing My Dreams, which will be released on Friday, 30th June.

“I am excited to have the chance to make my UK tour debut with Collabro,” Ms Paoli told The Universe. “Like me, they have a passion for singing; we’ve all achieved our goals on different paths, but we all share the love of performance.

“To be able to perform with four guys, who love the world of musical theatre as I do, is an absolute dream. I can’t wait to be on stage with them and share my music with a British audience.”

Ms Paoli’s debut single Ave Maria was chosen as the official song of the pope’s Jubilee celebrations last year. Her music video subsequently became a number one hit in the iTunes charts in the UK, Italy, Singapore and Malaysia.

Ms Paoli has recently performed at many high profile events in Italy, including at the Roman Forum and Terme di Caracalla, and on national TV shows Zecchino D’Oro and TV2000.

Ms Paoli’s achievements in art and culture were recently recognised in Italy when she was awarded the prestigious Premio Barocco award, previous recipients include Dame Helen Mirren and Luciano Pavarotti.

Singing My Dreams by Carly Paoli is out on Friday 30th June.
