Pipesmoke Ponderings

Episode 6 – Redemptive Suffering

December 5, 2014:

We all suffer. No person on the earth goes through life without it. It is not a question of “if” we will suffer, but “when” or “how” we will suffer. How do we as Catholics deal with this suffering? We are taught to offer it up, but what does that really mean. Today’s episode of Pipesmoke Ponderings will look into suffering and what it means to offer it up.

Episode 5 – Evangelisation in the workplace

November 27, 2014:

How do we as Catholics evanglise our faith in the workplace? Are we called to do this? Important questions that are pondered upon in this episode of Pipesmoke Ponderings with Tracy Turner.
In today’s society, it is often frowned upon to evangelise in the workplace. There are constructive ways to achieve this objective, however. What are the obstacles that we will encounter? How do we deal with these obstacles?

Episode 4 – Giving and receiving

November 27, 2014:

Tracy looks at why it’s more difficult to receive than to give. Receiving a gift from someone can sometimes make us feel we have to repay them, and we may not know what to say to thank them.

Episode 3 – Dealing with grief at Christmas

November 27, 2014:

Tracy reflects on holiday grief, sharing the story of losing his only brother in a traffic accident in 2002.

Holidays are especially trying times for those who have lost a loved one. What do we say to them? What can we do for them? These are important questions if we have friends who are suffering from grief and bereavement.

Episode 2 – What is grief?

November 27, 2014:

Tracy examines the grieving process and tries to grasp an understanding of what a grieving person is going through. Grief is experienced in many different ways and from various sources. It doesn’t necessarily have to be the loss of a loved one. It can be the loss of one’s job or home. Anything that is important to us which is taken from us, causes a certain amount of grief and mourning.

What are the old cliche’s that are so often used that really shouldn’t be spoken? How long does it take to “get over it”? These questions are explored in this episode of Pipesmoke Ponderings.
