Universe Archives special to commemorate WWII start

This year, to mark the 80th anniversary of the start of the Second World War, The Catholic Universe’s much-anticipated 15th volume of From the Archives is to be devoted to commemorating that tumultuous event.

This collection of photographs from The Catholic Universe’s unique photographic archive will show how the seeds of the war were sown, the declaration of war itself through the ‘Phony War’ to the Battle of Britain, with much more in-between.

The photographs in this collection will capture the spirit of those days, and breathe some life into many of these now almost forgotten figures, as well as the great mass of humanity who were the most affected by these events.

The volume will be available to readers from the 11th November but pre-booking is recommended in order to avoid disappointment. To reserve your copy please telephone Michelle Jones on 0161 820 5722 or contact her via email on

The magazine is priced at £3.50 with £1 post and packing.
